THE TRADERS started in 2010 with a simple goal: filling an opening slot for a Dead To Me show in France. What followed was more than 200 shows in twenty countries. Oops.
From French clubs to Belarusian garages and German squats, the band released Too Young So Old in 2013 — a fiery debut album blending tight punk with rock’n’roll riffs, setting the foundation of their identity.
The record led to another wave of touring across Europe, the UK, Russia and Canada, sharing stages with bands such as Dead To MeThe FlatlinersThe Arteries and Petrol Girls.

After five intense years of DIY activity, the band slowed down, playing only a handful of shows between 2015 and 2022. Line-up changes (guitarists) and a few babies added to the guestlist seemed like good enough reasons.

During the pandemic, the band returned to writing. How Much Art Can You Take? was released at the end of 2023, marking a more ambitious and refined direction.
This new chapter was tragically overshadowed by the passing of Clément, guitarist and co-writer, one month before the release. Determined to bring these songs to life, the trio resumed touring in 2024, playing extensively across France and then internationally (Europe / Canada).
With this second record, The Traders continue shaping their strong identity with passion. Avoiding overly straightforward song structures, blending punk, rock’n’roll, stoner and even pop with surprising coherence. Gritty bass, fast drums, tight — sometimes even jazzy — guitars: the cocktail is tense, energetic, and unpretentiously melodic.
The release opened doors to new shows with various line-ups and on diverse scenes.
The band came to realize they didn’t necessarily belong solely to the punk world.

On stage, The Traders delivers a dense, precise and intensely alive performance, often compared to Hot Water Music or Lysistrata or the broader Floridian punk scene.
Now based between Lyon and Paris, the trio asserts a clear identity — solid, recognizable, and adaptable to diverse line-ups, from punk to alternative rock, indie or post-hardcore, without losing its core sound.
